and every year we are unsuccessful.
it's just really hard to find a weekend that we are both free during the fall. between drumline competitions for weston's students and various obligations for myself.. we just suck at weekend dates.
but this year, on the last weekend of apple season in california, we made it to oak glen.
knowing that there wouldn't be any good apples left for pickin' we settled for a day of freshly pressed cider, cinnamon donuts, and walking around the gorgeous grounds of a few of the orchards.
so many fall colors!
such delicious treats!
plus, i got to hang out with weston all day.
that's always pretty nice.
finally, apple farm success!
maybe next year we'll even make it in time to pick some...
ps. now that thanksgiving is over, it can officially be christmastime!
bring it on.
Ok so fun! I want to do this! Your pictures are awesome too!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so gorgeous - how I want to live in America! X

Your photos are beautiful! I have always wanted to go to an apple farm. Looks like the perfect day :)
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend and I are the same way! We've tried the past two years to go to the apple orchard, and we either just don't have time or I'm sick. This year, though, we did make it to Long Grove's apple fest, which was a lot of fun. We tried apple cider beer! Which would've been a lot better without the alcohol. xD
ReplyDeleteIt's the same with the pumpkin farm. We bought them at the store this year. -.-
I LOVE apple doughnuts and cider! I actually grew up in an area with lots of orchards (I know, who'd of thought, in Nebraska?) and its part of the fall season here. Sooooo good.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! It looks like such a lovely time. I wanted to go apple picking with my boyfriend, but being in separate continents make it a little hard, haha. I can't wait to read more from you :)
ReplyDeleteoh man, separate continents?! you guys are taking long distance to the next level! i'm loving your blog - so jealous of all the places you've seen in the world!

ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to go apple picking! And it looks like you guys had a wonderful day! Too bad you couldn't actually pick them though!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you two had fun, even though you didn't pick apples - eating outside is the best!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Looks like you had the best time. These photos are so vibrant.
ReplyDeletei love cider and donuts! we have a family tradition to go get cider and donuts every year around Halloween to celebrate fall =) SO good!

And I'm so jealous you guys got to just walk around in shirts, I'm freezing my butt off under coats and two sets of sweaters here in Chicago! You're pictures are so pretty, they really captured how much fun you were having. I love the one of the slingshot haha
ReplyDeletethank you! yeah, it was perfect weather! 68 and sunny! i can only imagine how cold chicago is right now but i'll be jealous of that soon enough when i'm wishing we had some winter snow :)
