The First Outdoor Movie of Summer.

I realize there's about a month left until summer is officially upon us, but something around here clicked about a week ago and it no longer feels like spring. Warm evenings have me sleeping with the window open, falling asleep to the sound of crickets chirping outside. (Occasionally they've even been finding their way inside, which I really don't like very much.)

Bike rides have been taking place in the later parts of the evening, raspberry sorbet is a staple in my diet again, and weekends are filling up with beach trips and BBQs. I really love it.

One of my favorite parts of summer is spending the evenings eating dinner and watching movies outdoors. Last night, we kicked off our summer movie season with smoked ribs, margaritas, and good ol' Ferris Bueller. By the time the sun went down, we needed jackets and even blankets for our legs…So maybe summer hasn't fully arrived yet. But I don't mind jumping the gun a little on this one.  ;)

  1. I think there is something about memorial day that brings on a sense of summer. the weather is improved, there is hope for more beautiful weather, and as for me, I just see my mood being constantly improved. I love spending time outside, as much as I can! I hope you continue to have great weather :)
